Diversity Fashion Show

Last night was the Diversity Fashion Show at the LRV.
Needless to say it was a great night and i was very impressed.
I went to the fashion show last year and this year was definitely a million times better!
I knew it was going to be a good night straight away as from 7.15pm till 8pm the que outside the LRV was massive! (bigger than any Gobble or Super Friday) haha.

My friend Ashlea Morris was the creative director and did an amazing job as well as all the models, Hannah Scrivener and Ella Whitham to name a few :) and everyone else involved. You could tell a lot of hard work had really gone into it.

The show started a little after 8pm and this year people were even standing up watching as there wasn't enough space. The presenters, who worked well together, introduced the show and each catwalk section.

The models all did an excellent job, wearing clothes from Miss Selfridge, Burton, Principles, Peacocks and New Look. Outfits from different cultures were also included which made the catwalk really lively.
Some of the clothes were student designs from colleges in Stafford and Newcastle as well as outfits from the Birmingham Clothes Show.

Other catwalk themes were alternative, rave, hip hop and burlesque. The rave section was designed by Ashlea herself and the Hip Hop outfits were the models own clothes. These sections were really lively and enthusiastic :)

The music worked well with the catwalk and choreography. However, what I thought made the beginning of the show and the closing was the dancing by Rhythm Factory- a dance company for 11 to 18 year olds. A rap, drum section and a dance performance by The Dance Society was also included.

Over £1,000 was raised from the designs and door sales which is going to be split between charities Blackfriars special needs school and West Midlands alzheimer’s.
