I Wish I Lived In Florida...

Everytime I go to Florida I always buy sooo many clothes at such decent cheap prices. The best shop in the world is 'Papaya' soooo good :) However this time, my parents were out there on their own but still decided to bring me back some goods :)

I love this smart top which will be great to wear on my Newsdays- only about £4.
The long sleeve casual top underneath is a good top for the winter with some jeans, again only about £2. As you can see, there is a different pattern on the front than on the back.

This hoody below is my new fave to wear around the house- only £4.

It must be so easy being a student in Florida ;)

New Buys

Whilst visiting my grandparents, my nan treated me to a shopping spree!
And we certainly did get some great buys :)
Can't go wrong with Matalan, New Look, TK Maxx and Peacocks.
Matalan has a great selection of strap tops and boob tubes for only £2/£3, so obviously I had to pick up a few.

I bought this lovely sailorish jacket/blazer, although quite expensive at £18.

This green top, only £5 :) wooo!

This lime green cardi- £8, apparently greens my colour (as a lot of the old women in Matalan said, haha)

This flowery dress- great for summer only £8

Selected jewellery was also 75% off, i bought a wooden beaded necklace for £1.65 instead of £7!!!
I do love New Look, and found this cute cardi in the sale for £7

This vest (below) is great for a night out and for daytime! With slits down the side, putting a top on underneath, maybe some leggings and heels.. great outfit for the evening ;) You can really accesorise it up. With my student discount it was only £12.60, also bought another one but in a peachy/pinky colour.

And eyeshadow to match of course, £3.These shoes are amazing but at the moment they're abit too expensive for me.ha. Until the loan comes through ;)

There were a few decent items in TK Maxx, although no bargains i'm afraid. There was a cute vintage green handbag but for £13 it wasn't in my price range haha. There was also a lovely tweed little jacket, although as soon as trying it on the buttons fell off.. not good. The shoes in TK Maxx are ummmm unusual is the word ha but some bronze gladiator style heels I literally fell in love with, needless to say £40 wasn't a cheap deal.

In Peacocks, I spotted some black lace leggings which I am loving for £10. Didn't buy them but definitely to be bought in the future.

When explaining to my Grandad about my student fashion blog and showing him my last post (The Recession) we sparked a discussion about fashion and buying clothes during these "hard" times!

The Recession

The recession is obviously effecting the fashion industry. And apparently women more..
"In recession, women are the worriers"
A new government sponsored poll has revealed that women are now even more worried than men (40% as as opposed to 33%)

Whilst browsing the internet for news/fashion updates. I came across this fashion recession fact..
"Women dye hair blonde amid recession" (telegraph website)
Celebrity hairdresser Andrew Barton revealed a 67 per cent surge in the sales of his blonde hair products compared to this time last year.
And after quizzing his customers, Barton said the "gold rush" showed a simple change of colour was providing women with the perfect antidote to the gloom of the credit crunch.
"Many of my female clients say they feel more confident, more youthful and more attractive when they go blonde and they get more attention.
A survey of 1,200 customers, found the perception that blondes were 'extrovert' and 'more sexy'. Meanwhile, 90 per cent of male respondents said they believe blondes have more fun.
The current most influential blonde bombshell, Barton said, is Paris Hilton.
And another recession shopping fact...
"Sales boost for Welsh clothes firm" (WalesOnline)
Peacocks is defying the recession, reporting an 8% rise in sales. The retailer already plans to increase the number of store openings in the 2009/10 financial year to about 40. The company, which also owns Bonmarche, has already said it expects to create up to 750 jobs over the next two years.
